Moda Living

A £250m build-to-rent development within Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter Conservation Area, regenerating the Ludgate Hill car park – commonly known as ‘the bomb site.’ PLMR Birmingham supported Moda during the pre-application process, delivering an effective engagement strategy.

AN INTELLIGENCE-LED APPROACH

Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter is a complex area of the city, with a proud heritage and unique quality. From the outset, PLMR Birmingham undertook detailed stakeholder mapping to understand the different views and perspectives of the area and, working with our network of contacts, delivered an intelligence-led engagement strategy.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH STAKEHOLDERS

Working with Moda’s appointed project team, PLMR Birmingham worked hard to build relationships with key stakeholders. This included the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust, Birmingham Civic Society, Jewellery Quarter BID, Colmore BID, West Midlands Trains, the Leader of Birmingham City Council and ward councillors. Over a series of meetings and presentations we helped communicate Moda’s exciting vision and achieve buy-in from the Jewellery Quarter’s influencers.

REACHING OUT TO THE COMMUNITY

Building on the positive relationships with key stakeholders, PLMR Birmingham delivered an extensive public exhibition in St Pauls Church in the Jewellery Quarter. Leaflets were sent to nearly 3,000 residents and we worked with the JQBID to hand deliver leaflets to local businesses. Held over two days, the exhibition attracted 175 people with the vast majority indicating support for the proposals.
